We don’t need to know where someone stands on every issue—just where they stand on the applicable principle.

We made a good move in the right direction toward parents’ right to choose their child’s school; I want to see that protected and expanded.

Also, I recently went to the ER and waited six hours to be seen by a doctor; while there, I saw too many people waiting just as long. Then I was billed nearly $6,000 after getting only a couple of blood tests and an EKG.

The government’s constraint on the health care system through “need certificates” drives up costs by reducing choices and constrains the poor’s access to good healthcare. Too many government policies like this example are bad for everyone except the selected few friends and special interest groups it intends to help. This needs to change.
